Die Regeln für die Nutzung von ThisBig.

Stand: .

Keine falschen Aufrufe, kein automatisches Auslesen, keine fremden Shops.

Deine Verbraucherrechte an deinem Wohnort gelten weiterhin.

These terms cover the app for Android and iPhone, the browser extension, the WhatsApp bot, this website, and ThisBig for shops: the size chip on a shop’s product pages, the shops portal, and the plugins and apps that add it. Using any of them means you accept these terms. If you don’t, don’t use them.

The short version

  • ThisBig is free for shoppers. A drawing shows the size a listing states; check anything that matters before you buy.
  • Shops pay by sized views, on the plans on the pricing page. Over the limit, the chip keeps showing until 110% of them, then stops until the next month. No extra charges.
  • A shop’s sizes stay the shop’s. Sizes it confirms help ThisBig show the same product’s size to shoppers elsewhere.
  • Don’t misuse ThisBig: no fake views, no scraping, nobody else’s shop.
  • What ThisBig keeps about you is in the privacy policy.

Who runs ThisBig

ThisBig is run by The Tener's Brand, teners.net. “We” and “us” on this page mean them. Write to support@thisbig.app about anything here.

Using ThisBig

You may use ThisBig for yourself, and to help the people you buy for, for free. You may share the pictures it makes. You may not copy, resell or rebuild ThisBig, its drawings or its library of things to draw against, or read it automatically to build something else.

ThisBig reads shops’ pages to find sizes. It isn’t the shop: what you buy, its price, delivery and returns are between you and the shop you buy from.

The app stores and browser stores ThisBig comes from have terms of their own, which apply alongside these.

What a drawing is

A drawing puts the size a listing states, or the size you type, next to things you know, to scale. It is only as right as that size. A listing can be wrong, leave a side out, or give the box’s size rather than the product’s. Where ThisBig had to assume a unit or estimate a size, it says so.

Things drawn as typical, like a plastic chair, are a common size, not the one you own. A shoe or clothing size ThisBig suggests is a suggestion. Before buying anything where the size matters, check it: measure your space, read the shop’s own size chart, and ask the shop.

Accounts

You don’t need an account to use ThisBig. If you sign in to sync, keep your devices and sign-in to yourself, and tell us if someone else gets into your account. Delete it whenever you like, in the app, in the extension or at thisbig.app/account/delete.

A shop’s account in the shops portal is separate from any shopper account. Whoever opens it for a shop says they may act for that shop. Its owners are responsible for who they add to its team.

ThisBig for shops

ThisBig for shops puts a size chip on your product pages and draws the size when a shopper taps it. You add it with the snippet, the WordPress plugin or the Shopify app, on sites you run. These terms apply to it with the rest of this page; where they differ, this part and the next three win.

  • Put it only on product pages of sites you run, or run for the shop that holds the account.
  • The chip shows the size your page gives it, or one you gave ThisBig. If a size can’t be right for the kind of thing, like a kettle 2.4 metres tall, the chip shows nothing and the portal lists it as Refused.
  • What the chip sends ThisBig from your shoppers’ browsers, and what it never does, is in the privacy policy and on the pricing page. You don’t need to collect anything from your shoppers for it.
  • Keep your secret keys secret. Anyone with one can act for your site; replace it in the portal if it gets out.
  • A Shopify shop uses the app under Shopify’s own terms too, and a WordPress site under WordPress.org’s.

Plans and billing

The plans, their prices and what each includes are on the pricing page. A plan is charged by sized views: page views where the size showed. Nothing is counted when there’s no size to show.

  • Going over. At 80% and again at 100% of the month’s sized views, the shop’s owners get an email. The chip keeps showing until 110% of them, then stops until the next month starts or the shop moves to a bigger plan. Nothing more is charged for going over.
  • Who bills you. Paid plans are sold through Creem, which is the seller: it charges your card, issues your invoices, handles tax and handles refunds under its own terms. A Shopify shop is billed by Shopify, on its Shopify bill.
  • Renewing. A plan renews each month or year until you cancel. If a payment fails, the shop keeps its plan for 7 days to put it right, then moves to Free.
  • Cancelling. Cancel in the portal, or in Shopify for a Shopify shop. The plan runs to the end of what you’ve paid for, then the shop moves to Free. Paid time isn’t refunded, except where Creem’s or Shopify’s terms or the law say otherwise.
  • Price changes. A price you subscribed at stays until you change plan, unless we tell the shop’s owners by email at least 30 days before it changes. Shopify shops approve any higher charge in Shopify first. A lower limit on a plan applies from the shop’s next month; a higher one, at once.

Your products and sizes

Your products, their names, pictures and sizes stay yours. You let us use them to run ThisBig for your shop: to read your pages, show the chip and the drawing, count views, and show you how it’s going.

Sizes you confirm

A size you confirm, by typing it in the portal, sending it from your systems or syncing your catalogue, is also used beyond your own pages. We keep it against your product page’s address, so a shopper using the ThisBig app or extension on that page sees it straight away. And it counts, with no shop named, towards the typical sizes ThisBig estimates from when a listing gives none. You let us keep and use confirmed sizes this way, including after you stop.

Give only sizes you’re allowed to give, as accurately as you have them. The drawing is only as right as the size.

Fair use

Whoever you are, don’t:

  • make views that aren’t real people looking at a product page, or get around the sized-view limit;
  • put the chip on a site that isn’t yours, or use another shop’s key;
  • give sizes meant to mislead shoppers;
  • read ThisBig, its widget or its pages automatically at a rate that burdens them, or get around the limits on how often you can ask it something;
  • try to reach what isn’t yours, such as a shopper’s own sizes in a shop’s panel, another account, or the staff console;
  • use ThisBig to break the law or anyone’s rights.

If you do, we may stop the chip on a site, pause a shop or close an account. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

Stopping

Stop whenever you like. A shopper deletes their account as described above. A shop removes the snippet or the plugin, or uninstalls the Shopify app, and deletes the shop from the portal’s Settings; its billing records stay for as long as the law needs them. Removing the WordPress plugin removes what it kept on the site. Sizes it filled into your products are yours and stay in them.

We may change, pause or stop any part of ThisBig. If we stop ThisBig for shops, or a paid plan, we tell the shop’s owners at least 30 days ahead.

What we’re responsible for

We work to keep ThisBig running and its drawings right, but we provide it as it is, and can’t promise it will always be available or that a size it reads or shows is correct. Check a size before relying on it.

As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for a purchase you make or don’t make, for lost sales or profit, or for losses we couldn’t reasonably foresee. For a shop, everything we owe for any claims about ThisBig for shops together is limited to what the shop paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing here limits what we can’t limit by law, such as responsibility for death or injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, and nothing takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. If a change makes things worse for shops, we email their owners at least 30 days before it applies; carrying on after that is accepting it. If a part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
